Bridgette Mncwabe

Background

Bridgette is an Associate General Accountant, AGA (SA), and a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). As a Senior Manager in Grant Thornton Cayman Islands’ Advisory practice, she brings more than 17 years of post-qualification experience across professional services and industry. Her experience spans insurance and reinsurance, mining, manufacturing, the public sector, and regulatory compliance across South Africa, the United States, Australia, and Bermuda.

Experience

Bridgette began her career as an accountant with a leading NYSE-listed manufacturing company before joining a Big Four professional services firm in South Africa. She subsequently spent six years in the United States delivering audit and advisory services across a range of industries. She later returned to industry, holding leadership roles within multinational mining and manufacturing organizations and supporting companies through initial public offering and Sarbanes-Oxley readiness initiatives.

Across her career in professional services and industry, Bridgette has led internal audit, regulatory compliance, SOCreporting, and systems implementation engagements for Fortune 500 organizations. She specializes in governance, enterprise risk management, internal controls, and compliance advisory, helping organizations strengthen oversight, enhance control environments, and navigate complex regulatory requirements.

Industry Experience

Bridgette has advised clients across insurance and reinsurance, the public sector, mining, and manufacturing. She has also supported organizations in meeting regulatory requirements, including those of the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) and the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA).

Professional Qualifications 

Bridgette holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Finance and a Project Management Certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. She also completed an Executive Development Certificate through Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in the United States. She remains committed to continuous professional development and staying current with leading practices in internal audit, risk management, governance, and regulatory compliance.
