Background
Greg is Head of Asset Management and Business Development for Grant Thornton in the Cayman Islands, and Head of Industry for Asset Mangement for Grant Thornton Advisors multinational platform. He works closely with the Grant Thornton platform and member firms in the major financial services centers to enhance the services provided to the international financial services sector including clients with a global footprint. Greg is a member of Grant Thornton’s Global Asset Management Leadership team.
Experience
Greg joined Grant Thornton as a Partner in 2017. He began his career in a big four accounting firm in Dublin. Greg then moved to Kinetic Partners (Kroll) where he managed many of their offshore fund audits whilst based in their Dublin office, London office and Cayman Islands office. Before joining Grant Thornton, Greg was an audit Director and Head of Business Development in a Top 6 accounting firm based in the Cayman Islands.
Industry experience
Greg has extensive audit experience in the Cayman Islands, Ireland, UAE, US and the United Kingdom with clients in the financial services industry. He has a deep understanding of auditing the valuation methodologies for the most complex instruments, including private equity, debt, credit instruments, and derivatives. Among Greg’s audit clients have been large and complex offshore funds, as well as new funds building their investor base and track record and a significant number of investment manager entities. Greg is an expert in fund structures, and in the application of the various accounting frameworks and relevant local legal requirements applicable to funds. Greg’s former and current clients include hedge funds, fund of funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, mutual funds, exchanged-trade funds (ETFs), unit investment trusts (UITs), registered investment advisors and other alternative investment vehicles. Funds reviewed range in size from $10 million in assets to those with assets in excess of $100 billion.

The Cayman Islands Amateur Golf Championships, presented by Grant Thornton, took place on 16-17 March 2024 at North Sound Golf Club. Championship division winners included Mendes, Isabel, Glynn, Conor, Corin, Denis and Kapuscinski, Scott. Handicap division winners included Guilbard, Manon and Kassam, Hunter.
