James (Jim) Evans, FCAS, MAAA, CFA is a Director and Cayman Head of Actuarial Services at Grant Thornton with over three decades of experience transforming insurance and reinsurance reserve operations through strategic process innovation and robust control frameworks.
He previously founded and led ARM P&C Actuarial Consulting, partnering with insurtechs and carriers to build reserving infrastructure that bridges visionary ideas with rigorous regulatory requirements.
Jim has deep expertise in Schedule P Reporting and multi-jurisdictional regulatory compliance, and he has a proven track record of harmonizing global reserve processes and reducing close cycles through analytics and automation.
Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Actuary at QBE’s Equator Re captive reinsurer and as a Managing Director at BDO Insurance Advisory, roles in which he led enterprise-wide reserving frameworks, transaction due diligence, and the implementation of SOX-compliant control environments.
