Experience
Scott has over 10 years’ consulting experience working for two Big-4 firms in the United Kingdom. He joined Grant Thornton in 2022 and manages teams performing Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions Internal Audits.
Scott has extensive experience working in Financial Crime across first, second and third line, which enables him to understand the challenges faced by all departments. This, along with excellent stakeholder management, allows Scott to add value and deliver high quality engagements.
Industry experience
Scott currently leads on Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions Internal Audits, helping a range of clients achieve compliance with CIMA regulations. With his strong technical knowledge and experience within this industry, Scott is able to add value to clients by advising how to improve policies and procedures. Scott is also engaged with CIMA to perform Anti-Money Laundering Inspections on behalf of the Authority. This gives Scott valuable insight on CIMA’s expectations and enables him to keep up to date with any changes in regulation.
Scott has successfully led the risk and controls team on a large KYC remediation programme and improved overall quality. He also consulted as a Financial Crime SME to help a major UK bank return to compliance by implementing an effective AML trigger event strategy.
